There is a bounty of beautiful Savannah venues. First up to share is the Trustee’s Garden. The location of one of my Savannah-area Taken bride’s reception.
I was going to go into the rich history behind this building and the future plans they have in store, but I decided to just show the images of this beautiful venue was enough.
Like every new venue I shoot at, I take some time out in advance to become acquainted with the coordinator and venue. Tom and Kathy, the event coordinators, are generous with their time. Thanks Tom for the personal tour and generous sharing of information.
The main event space is right through those beautiful wood doors. It’s 3,600 square feet, with gorgeous exposed brick walls, high polished wood floors and lovely lighting.
Around the corner, included in the rental of the reception area, is a “flex space;” about 800 square feet. It’s perfect for a cocktail or bride changing area. I personally asked about shooting there. Totally want to rent it for an upcoming shoot! Fell in love with the ceiling.
Right behind the main event space, there’s a courtyard (temporarily covered for an event they were prepping for) behind and covered space to the side.
Beyond the courtyard was a green space, with a view of older building to the right (also owned by Trustee’s Gardens) and Savannah River the left.
There’s another part of the facility that is still being renovated and honestly, I’m very eager to take bride and groom formals there. The building used to be duplexes in the 60′s. It’s totally gutted out, but the unfinished textures draws me in.
The outside (image on the left) hides the charm in progress that’s inside.
Totally random note – Today’s my bday :) So feel lucky, Trustee’s Garden to share this special day with me ;)
