People always laugh when I told them I grew up in Effingham. F-ing Ham… get it? Yep. I never really thought it was funny either.
Really aside from it’s name, Effingham is a pretty decent place. It’s about 30 minutes north of Savannah, Georgia. Quiet, sprinkled with farmlands, and being modernized; Rincon, the most bustling city within the county, has 3 coffee houses and spas now! That’s pretty stinkin’ impressive ;)
Those luxuries has most definitely made moving back to “The Ham” (as my hubbs and I call it) more enjoyable. But I have to say most comforting is the rich country culture of fresh food, animals, and relaxed atmosphere that we can provide for our kids.
Welcome to my father’s backyard: complete with corn, chickens, and blueberries :)
We actually have a dinner bell that we ring when dad is out in the yard…
Alia helping grand-mommy pick radishes and a green pepper.
My dad hung the swing and made the wind-chime himself.
The chickens got spooked when we came close. I couldn’t have asked for a better reaction and composition.
Never realized how much Alia, the oldest, LOVES blueberries until we moved here. Parents are happy because then they’ll actually be able to keep up with the harvest.
Thanks for letting me share! Things are still developing over here for Taken. We’ve booked our first Savannah wedding – three week after moving. Total God thing. Very excited to serve Alana and her future hubby, Robert. I’ll keep you posted!

Being in Pooler, I like to go out that way to the “country”. I’m so jealous of the beautiful garden pics. We are in a ticky-tacky little house neighborhood and want more space! Pretty pics <3
